SWIM LESSONS

Seven Hills offers swim lessons in four week blocks (one lesson per week) for both members and non-members. The 2024 swim lesson season will open on April 1. You can view the class schedule and descriptions here >

Non-member swim lessons: Private lessons are available for those that are not members of Seven Hills for an additional fee. This check needs to be made payable to Seven Hills Swim Club, and it is due at the time of the first lesson. Per club policy, non-member swim lesson participants have access to the club facilities only for the duration of their 30 or 45 minute lesson.

Cancellation policy: Once lessons are scheduled, you must call your instructor to cancel at least 24 hours in advance (do not call Seven Hills). Late cancellations or no shows will NOT be rescheduled or refunded. Exception: Lessons canceled due to weather will be rescheduled. Please call ahead if weather is questionable.

SWIM TESTS

Safety is our number one priority at Seven Hills. Parents should be on the premises with children under age 12 at all times, amd only strong swimmers ages 12 or older can be left at the pool without direct adult supervision. Babysitters ages 16 or older may actively supervise in place of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian must actively supervise and be within arm's reach of non-swimmers of ALL ages and especially children ages 5 and under at the pool at ALL TIMES. Children ages 5 or younger may only be in the main pool with an adult in arms reach, even when a flotation device is used.

Swim tests

Who needs to take a swim test?

Swimmers between ages 5 and 12 MUST complete a swim test prior to participating in any pool activity.

To pass a swim test, swimmers must be able to:

  1. Swim from one end of the pool to the other (25 meters) without assistance or stopping

  2. Tread water for 1 minute in the deep end of the pool

  3. Jump off a diving board and swim to the side of the pool with no assistance

  4. Jump into the pool and push off the bottom

Why should my child take a swim test?

Passing a swim test shows water proficiency and means that the youngest swimmers may be ready to use the diving boards and swim in the diving well.

Do I still have to watch my child if they have passed a swim test?

All parents should be extra vigilant in watching their children, even those that have passed a swim test.

How do I take a swim test?

Swim tests are administered during rest periods (the first 10 minutes of each hour). If you would like your child to take a swim test, please notify the manager on duty when you arrive at the club. Swim tests will be given in groups.

In a hurry? You may fill out and print the swim test registration form ahead of time by clicking here, and bringing it with you when you arrive at the club. Forms are also available at the clubhouse front desk.
